Trapeze pendant by Jette Scheib
TRAPEZE PENDANT – ARTIST & AERIALIST
Trapeze Pendat is a true artist, an aerialist combining grace and style. Fixed in a single pose with endless possibilities. The solitary performance can be extended to a group by connecting the lamp with one, two or more. The construction allows the user to combine uplight and downlight at the same time.
The idea of a system of lamps came before the solitare Trapeze pendant and has been an important cornerstone during the design process. Together with designer Jette Scheib we wanted to create someting beutiful yet pragmatic. The feature to direct the light in two different direction at the same time is not just a gimmic, it is extremely usful. After you mounted the lamp in the ceiling you can still direct the light up, down, to the side or in two directions at the same time.
Jette Scheib describes where the idea and concept cames from; “In the circus you see single trapeze artists but also artists, connecting their trapezes to each other for a group performance. We tried to do the same with the Trapeze lamp and developed a system that allows you to use a single Trapeze or add as many Trapezes to it as you like, to create various formations and atmospheres. Every single light can be directed individually where you need it at that spot and in that moment.”
Trapeze is as much a single pendant as it is an endless system of possibilities. The square tube has a build in connector which make it easy and fun to mount multiple lamps together. You can connect two lamps next to each other or use a straight and/or a 90-degree connector.
